Now I am no Accountant yet, thats one thing this unit has proven to me… BUT, this article about my Company having to fire CFO for sketchy Accounting seems like a bitttt of a problem. Oops. Cya CFO.
‘My thoughts on entering data into my company spreadsheet are this: I did not enjoy this step.’
Are you kidding me, Gemma Purse, you have me in tears!
How did I not find this blog sooner! If you haven’t checked out Gemma’s blog yet, do yourself a favour and go now (not if you’re in a quiet library or have a sleeping baby nearby or something because you WILL be laughing).
Guess who missed the part of Step 1 where you were meant to post your Intro and Chapter 1 KCQ’s on your blog… THIS GAL. Oops!
So without further adieu,
My ASS#1 Step 1… better late than never.
P.S. I swear my Steps 3-6 Draft is coming soon, eeeeek.
P.P.S. Please let me know if that link didn’t work 😀
Manjeet in the Brisbane class also has a clothing retail based company, hers is based in Japan! However when looking at her Financial Statements, the company does not seem to be in a position of strength Financially at all, as Kanes was. The company has been in Loss consistently over the past 3 years without a clear forecast of profit anytime soon! Can’t wait to read Manjeets ASS#1 about her Company and see if she can tell us why her Company is struggling and if they have an action plan to get to a position of profit for 2019 year!
Current Emotional Status – still very very happy with Pou Sheng!

I just spoke with another peer in the Brisbane class.. His company provides galvanizing products in the UK… For us mere mortals who have no idea what that is, apparently it is the coating applied to steel to avoid corrosion! Looking at his Financial Statements and chatting with him, it seems as though his Company is in a great Financial position, profit increasing each year – grow, you good thing, grow!
Kane seems to be all up and down his Company, which is good because if it were me, it would have taken me the 4 weeks just to understand the word ‘galvanizing’!
His Financial Statements are set out in a manner very similar to my own and are very user friendly! Lucky Kane, Joyce wasnt that lucky!
Current emotional status: Still very happy with Pou Sheng

After comparing Company’s with Joyce in the Brisbane class today during the tutorial I am feeling very grateful for my Company. Joyce’s company, RWE, works in Energy and Utilities in Germany, one of the biggest companies within their industry! The Financial Statements are formatted in a way that is NOT easy to read, poor Joyce, lucky she is on the ball and has found a way to break it down and understand.
Current Emotional Status: Happy with Pou Sheng

After today’s lecturer, looking into the Cash Flow Statements for the past 3 years of my company Pou Sheng, looks like they had a TOUGH year in 2017 and are pushing hard to build their cash flow back up!
Guess my next question is – What happened in 2017?!
My 3 favourite blogs were picked as a mix between:
people I found commonalities with,
people who were incredibly brave in their transparency about their struggles with the assignment and University as a whole,
and people whose blogs I sought motivation from because of the insight they showed into their companies.
